Public transport is a key component of sustainable travel, reducing carbon emissions and air pollution compared to private vehicles. It also helps to alleviate traffic congestion and can save time, making it an attractive option for both residents and visitors.
Here are the options for Woodstock.
Buses
S3 – Operated by Stagecoach and runs between Oxford and Chipping Norton. Stops in Woodstock at Park View; Blenheim Palace; Marlborough Arms and Old Woodstock. More information here or download the latest timetable.
S7 – Operated by Stagecoach and runs between Oxford and Witney. Stops in Woodstock at Park View; Blenheim Palace; Marlborough Arms and Old Woodstock. Note: This service no longer runs to Woodstock in the evenings. More information here or download the latest timetable.
Trains
Woodstock’s own train station closed in the 1950s. A sad loss! The nearest stations now are:
Handborough – Managed by Great Western. Services to London Paddington, Great Malvern and Hereford
Oxford Parkway – Managed by Chiltern Railways. Services to London Marylebone and central Oxford
Both stations are on the S7 bus service (see above) but this does not connect to Woodstock in the evenings. Taxis are also an option
